www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's basketball dismantled the Pratt University Cannoneers (0-9) Wednesday night 83-36 in a non-conference encounter inside York College Gymnasium. The 47-point triumph is York's largest margin of victory since winning by 46 (75-29) against Vaughn College on December 6, 2013.
How it Happened
- York flew out to a 10-2 lead at 5:38.
- The Cardinals outscored Pratt 11-7 the rest of the period as Pratt's Kinako Miyake triple ended the scoring (21-9) in the first with one second remaining.
- Mac-Dege Dessources' jumper at the 1:42 mark in the second quarter capped off the first-half scoring for York's 33-18 advantage.
- Down 49-20, the Cannoneers went on a 9-3 burst to cut the deficit to 23 (52-29).
- Alicia Gumbs responded with four-consecutive points to push York's lead to 56-29 by the end of the third.
- The Cardinals cemented their dominance with a 27-7 fourth quarter.
- After Ellma Hodzic's layup with 8:36 left in the game to extend York's lead to 62-31, the Cardinals played with a 30+ edge the rest of the way.

Four York players reached double-digit points. Dessources paced the team with 27 points (12-of-20 FG), and 22 boards (10 offensive), both season-highs for the center. She also blocked a game-best four shots. Gumbs added 16 points (5-of-12 FG, 5-6 FT) and a career-high eight assists.
Kristina Sierra played a solid all-around game, finishing with 13 points (6-of-13 FG), nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Ellma Hodzic scored 12 points, dished out five dimes, and added three steals and two blocks to her stat line.
Aminata Sagna sparked the Cardinals off the bench with 10 boards and nabbed three steals.
Kinako and Kylie Grant reached double-figures for Pratt. Kinako poured in a team-high 18 points (7-of-14 FG) and totaled two steals. Grant chipped in 10 points. Almudena Valenzuela led the Cannoneers with five assists, while Rohama Tweodros had a team-best five rebounds.
Overall, York shot 46 percent (35-of-77) from the field, while Pratt made 23 percent (14-of-60) of their shots. Additionally, the Cardinals dominated inside, winning the battle on the glass (59-30), and outscoring the Cannoneers in the paint (56-14). York also outplayed Pratt in assists (21-9), blocks (6-0), and steals (11-4).
