www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's volleyball closed out their 2021 road schedule on Monday evening with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-9) setback to the St. Joseph's College (Brooklyn) Bears (7-10) inside The Hill Center.
Kylana Laspina led York with a career-high four points, registering two aces and two kills while scooping 10 digs.
Nadaysia Nivar hit a team-leading .250, nailing down two kills on eight swings to go with one ace and one block.
Chayana Jimenez served a pair of aces as
Alexandra Taveras' six assists captained the Cardinals on offense. Defensively,
Kiara Gonzalez led York with 12 digs while Taveras and
Emily Cabrera each added nine digs.
Kaitlyn Intindola produced a match-leading 11 points, 10 aces and 24 assists to pace St. Joseph's to victory. Cristina Morales and Martina Urgo both contributed eight kills while Grace Kane served four aces and slammed five kills.
The Cardinals posted a season-high 46 digs to hold a +6 edge (46-40) over St. Joseph's while the Bears owned the advantage in hitting percentage (.144 to -.101), points (50-18), kills (27-10), aces (20-7), blocks (3-1) and assists (26-10).
The Cardinals (0-8) return to the court Thursday (Nov. 4) to close out the season at home with a Senior Day showdown against the Yeshiva University Maccabees (0-13) starting at 7 p.m. inside York College Gymnasium. Prior to opening serve, seniors
