FLUSHING, NY --- (
www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer were unable to hold the lead Wednesday afternoon against the John Jay College Bloodhounds (2-7-0, 1-2-0 CUNYAC), falling 4-2 in a CUNYAC home matchup from College Point Field.
Kervin Mondesir netted his fifth goal of the season at the 11:39 mark to jump York out to an early 1-0 lead. John Jay answered in the 17th minute with the equalizer as Maksym Ivanov made it a 1-1 game heading into halftime.
The Bloodhounds grabbed the 2-1 lead in the 60th minute with Kevin Luciano's go-ahead goal. Justin Gharbin then scored the game-winning goal in the 74th minute to double John Jay's advantage before Ivanov stretched the lead to three goals in the 75th minute.
Marvin Mondesir answered in the 81st minute with his second goal of the season to slice the deficit in half to settle the 4-2 final.

Ahmed Elgendy (1-4-1) made five saves in 75 minutes of action before
George Molina's debut in goal saw him stop three shots during the final 15 minutes. Jesus Perez (2-7-0) turned away four shots to earn John Jay's win.
In the end, York registered a season-high 22 shots and landed seven attempts on target. John Jay finished with the edge in shots (27-22), shots on goal (13-7) and corner kicks (6-4).
The Cardinals (1-4-1, 1-2-0 CUNYAC) remain at home on Saturday (Oct. 9) for a CUNYAC matchup against the Lehman College Lightning (3-3-1, 1-1-0 CUNYAC) at 10 a.m. from Aviator Field in Brooklyn. At present time, spectators are not permitted at College Point Field. Visit
