www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College women's volleyball put together their best performance of the 2021 campaign by producing team-highs in points and service aces Thursday at home in a CUNYAC matchup against the John Jay College Bloodhounds (7-9, 3-1 CUNYAC) inside York College Gymnasium.
The Cardinals, who lost 25-11, 25-15, 25-18, posted a season-high 13 points and five aces as
Chayana Jimenez registered four points (three kills, one ace) to lead the way.
Alexandra Taveras dished out five assists to go with two aces and six digs.
Nadaysia Nivar contributed three points (one ace, one kill, one block) and five digs while
Kylana Laspina scooped six digs and served one ace.
Taylor Hunt's match-high seven aces sparked John Jay to victory. Arnela Radoncic moved the Bloodhounds on offense with 12 assists as Gabriella Sloan nailed down four kills.
York went up by as many as four points in the third set and finished the match with the advantage in digs (23-20). Both teams drew even in blocks (1-1) while John Jay held the edge in points (40-13), kills (22-7), aces (17-5) and assists (19-7).
The Cardinals (0-5, 0-4 CUNYAC) return to the court on Tuesday (Oct. 19) for a CUNYAC road matchup against the Lehman College Lightning (0-11, 0-3 CUNYAC) at 7 p.m. from APEX Arena in the Bronx.
