www.YORKATHLETICS.com) York College men's soccer traveled Monday afternoon for a non-conference matchup with New Jersey City University Gothic Knights (8-5-1), falling 9-1 from Robert L. McNulty Memorial Soccer Field in Jersey City, New Jersey.

George Molina (0-2-0) early with six shots before York responded with its first attempt at the 8:57 mark by
Abdul Bassa. Moments later, New Jersey City broke through by opening the scoring in the 14th minute with a Thiago Duarte goal. Jeff Sanchez then doubled the Gothic Knight advantage in the 16th minute to make it a 2-0 game. NJCU took a 6-0 lead into the break as the Gothic Knights created plenty of scoring opportunities with a 32-1 edge in first-half shots.
Danny Gonzalez opened the second-half scoring in the 53rd minute to increase NJCU's lead before Bassa put York on the board in the 55th minute with his first-career goal to make it a 7-1 contest. New Jersey City added goals in the 69th and 71st minutes to settle the 9-1 final.
Molina faced 47 shots and made a career-high 14 saves for York while Aldahir Cazun (2-0-0), Diego de la Cruz and Miguel Najarro combined for New Jersey City's clean sheet.
New Jersey City finished with the edge in shots (47-4), shots on goal (23-1) and corner kicks (6-0).
The Cardinals (1-6-1, 1-3-0 CUNYAC) return home on Wednesday (Oct. 13) for a CUNYAC showdown with the Brooklyn College Bulldogs (1-10-0, 1-3-0 CUNYAC) at 3 p.m. from College Point Field in Flushing. At present time, spectators are not permitted at College Point Field. Visit
