CHESTER, P.A.- The York College men's volleyball team suffered two defeats up in Pennsylvania on Saturday. The Cardinals fell to Stevenson University by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-16) in the first match and Widener University 3-0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-10) in the second matchup.

The Cardinals started the day off slowly in the first set. Stevenson's strong play won the first set, as the Cardinals were unable to keep it close. Stevenson University hit .357 and earned 13 kills in the set.

The second set York was unable to slow down the Stevenson offense as it took a commanding 2-0 set lead. Â

In the third set York was competitive but York could not capitalize on holding Stevenson to .150 hitting in the frame and losing the match.Â

For York,
Kevin Campbell lead with nine kills, four digs, and one block.
Fatmir Glavatovic added three digs with
Juan Rodriguez adding two kills, four assists, and two digs.
Philton Paul tacked on three assists and two digs.Â
 The second game started the same as the first game for York. The Cardinals were outhit as Widener putting up a .357 hitting percentage with a match-high 13 kills. York totaled six kills and six errors as it trailed 1-0 in the match.

After York tied the score at 6-6 in the second set, Widener took the lead and ran with it on their way to a 25-15 victory. The third set was more of the same; the Cardinals totaled three kills while Widner earned nine kills and took the game 3-0.
York again was led in the second match by
Kevin Campbell, who had 13 kills and eight digs, while
Juan Rodriguez also earned four kills and 11 assists.
Philton Paul added two kills, four assists, two blocked shots, and seven digs.
The Cardinals close out the season next Thursday with a road contest at Medgar Evers College beginning at 7 p.m.
