Manhattan N.Y.—York College softball dropped 6-3 and 21-8 CUNYAC road decisions Tuesday against Baruch College from Randall's Island.
In the First Game the Cardinals lost by a score of 6-3. Their bats came alive early in the first inning.
Nicole Ovelheira ripped a 2 rbi double to bring home her teammates
Mary Cuevas and Kaitlyn Taylor. Ovelheira then scored on an error on the shortstop for Baruch.
York would hold on to this lead until the bottom of the 4
thwhere an rbi single by Arline Reyes of Baruch drove home her teammate Jay Park to give the Bearcats a lead. They would then tack another run and win the first game.
In game two, Baruch would strike early. By the fourth inning York would be down by a score of 13-2.
Isis Funez would lead off the top of the fourth getting hit by the pitch. This manifested into a rally for the Cardinals where
Mary Cuevas hit a double scoring two and later would come across the plate to score off a fielding error by Baruch to make the score 13-8.
York's hope of a comeback would fall short as the Bear cats tallied on 8 more runs and would win the second game by a score of 21-8
York falls to 0-6 overall as Baruch improve to 2-0 overall.
