New York, N.Y.--The York College Women's Basketball team lost to John Jay on the road on Saturday evening by a score of 71-56.
For the start of the game, York had a 7-0 lead over John Jay. During minute 5:03 of the first quarter,
Keyla Cabrera sunk in a free throw after missing her first one. By the end of the quarter John Jay would take a 12-11 lead.
The second quarter would start neck and neck until the Bloodhounds gained some ground over the Cardinals with a layup by Nyasha Howard giving her team a 8-point lead.
York would make valiant attempts to come back into the game but it would not be enough for John Jay's home court advantage.
Jessica Gorman's layup for John Jay in the closing minutes of the game would secure a 15-point win over York.
York's record drops to 4-20 (3-12) as for John Jay they improve to 12-11 (8-6 CUNYAC).
Next time out for the Cardinals is on Monday, February 11
