Destenee Bailey produced 10 points and three steals against Penn to be selected to the All-Tournament Team.

Trailing 10-4, York scored 11 of the game's next 21 points to pull within two (17-15) at the end of the first period. After Mac-Dege Dessources dropped in two of her 10 first-half points to tie the game (17-17), both teams traded triples with Kristina Sierra's long ball igniting a 9-0 Cardinal run to lead 26-20 with 7:08 remaining in the half. York added to its advantage with a 12-0 spurt to build a game-high 16-point lead (38-22). Penn outscored the Cardinals 5-1 in the final 1:57 to trail 39-27 at intermission.
The Wildcats regained the lead with a 15-0 scoring spree to jump ahead 42-41 with 3:59 showing on the third-quarter clock. Knotted at 45 entering the fourth period, both teams combined for eight lead changes in the final 10 minutes. Cami Melson and Daniesha Newsome sank 3-pointers and Dessources added a pair of free throws to build York's lead to four (53-49) with 6:33 left. Penn answered with an 11-3 spurt to grab to lead for good to go up 60-56 with 2:22 remaining. The Cardinals twice pulled within one in the final 1:34, and had a chance to take the lead with 13 seconds left as Newsome's look from inside the paint rimmed out for York's final attempt.
Dessources registered her second-straight double-double (15th career), totaling a career-high 19 points (7-of-10 FG, 5-of-5 FT) to go with 15 rebounds and two blocks. Sierra and Newsome each tallied nine points.

The Cardinals (0-3) return to campus Tuesday (Nov. 26) at 7 p.m. for their home opener against the Bryn Athyn College Lions (1-3) inside York College Gymnasium. Prior to the start of the game, Dessources will be presented with hardware for being named the 2018-19 NCAA Division III Statistical Champion for rebounds per game.
