Women's Basketball comes up short on the road vs Baruch

JAMAICA, N.Y. —The York College women's basketball team lost against Baruch College, 66-52, on Tuesday night in which York stayed within striking distance but unable come up with the comeback.
 
York kept the game close in the 1st half being down by 6 as Baruch held a 31-25 advantage heading into halftime. The Cardinals held the Bearcats to 12% shooting from the three-point line. Baruch looked to be in control of the game. However, York down by 12, taking advantage with a 11-2 run to close out the 3rd quarter down by 3 points heading into the 4th quarter. The Bearcats offense picked up by scoring 25 points in the 4th quarter and held a 15-point advantage with York running out of time before they could make a final run.
 
Sheahna Roscher led the Cardinals with 15 points and five rebounds. She was 4 for 8 from behind the arc.  Mac-Dege Dessources added 7 points, 17 rebounds, and four blocks while Keyla Cabrera hauled in 14 rebounds for the Cardinals in the loss.
 
Melinda Spahiu led the Bearcats with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and six assists, while Daniela Zirpolo had 17 points and 13 rebounds in the win.
  
After tonight's game, the York Cardinals records falls to 4-18, 3-10 CUNYAC on the season, while Baruch improves to 6-12, 5-7 CUNYAC. Up next for the Cardinals will be a home game on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against The City College of New York.
