STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – In a hard-fought CUNYAC conference game, the College of Staten Island defeated the York College men's basketball team, 91-70, on Thursday night.

The Dolphins shot very well from behind the arc, hitting six of 10 three-point attempts, all in the opening 5:28, to take a 20-10 lead over the Cardinals.  After Darin Dove cut the lead again to 26-21, CSI was able to respond with a 14-7 run. York would again cut the lead to as few as seven, but CSI would hit timely baskets for a 47-35 advantage at halftime.

Despite the final score York was persistent cutting the lead but unable to complete the comeback. Jonathan Jones drilled jumper that kept York in the game by cutting the lead to 13 points, 62-49 with 13:42 to go.  The Cardinals would continue to battle to keep with striking distance as Devine Chisholm delivered a critical three that got the lead down to just 10, 69-59, with 8:22 to go. The Dolphins went on a 12-2 run over the next three-plus minutes, which York was unable to recover as CSI coasted to a 21-point final margin.

The Cardinals were led by Devine Chisholm, who netted 21 points with six boards. Darin Dove also scored 21 points and chipping in four rebounds. The Dolphins Christian Tayer had a game-high 26 points shooting 11-17 from the field.
