Bronx, N.Y.--The York Cardinals Men's Basketball team played on the road Friday night versus Lehman College and was victorious by a score of 89-79 in this CUNYAC game.
Darin Dove opened up the scoring in the game with a layup and drew a foul off of Lehman's Andre Hampton. He would then convert his free throw to complete a successful three-point play. This first half would be a neck and neck battle between the two teams. The Cardinals would finish the half with a comfortable eight-point lead over Lehman. They would finish shooting 73.3% from the free throw line.
By minute 17:04 of the second half,
Taishaun Forehand-Jenkins would give his team an eleven point lead converting a layup in the paint. From then on York would hold on to the lead for the rest of the game and come out on top.
Five of the Cardinals would finish in double-digits in scoring.
Maliqe John finished the game dropping a career high of 24-points shooting 100% from the free throw line and 10-12 from field goal range.
Darin Dove dropped 22-points for York shooting 9-11 from the free throw line.
Taishaun Forehand-Jenkins scored 14 for York and his teammate
Devine Chisholm dropped 10.
Freshman
Luca Tamer found himself scoring double digits for the first time this season with 11 points.
York improves their record to 7-13 (3-8 CUNYAC) as Lehman falls to 6-12 (4-7 CUNYAC).
