JAMAICA, N.Y. – The York College Men's Basketball team were able to come out victorious versus the Hunter College Hawks at home on Friday by a score of 86-52.
The Cardinals started of the game with an 11-3 run. With a 3-point basket by Hunter's Glenn Vazquez, he would pull his team within one. York seemed to be in control of the game for the first half leading by a score of 45-29.
Taishaun Forehand-Jenkins dropped 16 points in the first half, shooting 4-5 from three point range and 5-7 from field goal.
In the second half, the Cardinals would be up by 27 points with a three pointer from
Brandon Herriot with an assist from his teammate
Akil Vaughn. The game would slowly get out of reach for the visiting Hawks.
Hunter would accumulate a total of 12 personal fouls in the second half. As for York, they would finish the game shooting 90% from the free throw line. Taishaun Forehand- Jenkins was the high man for the Cardinals dropping a total of 31-points shooting 100% from the free throw line and shooting 6-7 from three point range.
York improves their record to overall record to 6-12 (2-7 CUNYAC) as Hunter falls to an overall record of 4-13 (2-8 CUNYAC).
Next time out for the Men's Basketball team, they will face Brooklyn College at home at 7:30 pm next Wednesday night in a CUNYAC conference game.
