JAMAICA, N.Y. - The York College Men's Basketball team fell at home to John Jay College, 69-56 on Wednesday night.
Devante Mcghee would open up the start of the game sinking a three-point basket at the 19:04 mark. York would be trailing midway through the half as Essien Epps would nail both free throw baskets putting the Bloodhounds up by 7-points. John Jay would take a 38-30 lead at halftime with 50% shooting from three-point range and 73% from the line.
The second half John Jay opened a double-digit lead in which they would never relinquish. Essien Epps and Doug Levy recorded double-doubles for John Jay. Four York players scored in double digits, Taishaun Forehand Jenkins 13 points,
Darin Dove 11 points,
Maliqe John 10 points and
Devante McGhee with 12 points.
With the loss, York drops to 5-10, 1-6 CUNYAC. John Jay improves to 8-6, 3-3 CUNYAC. The Cardinals will be on the road on Friday, vs. Medgar Evers College at 8:00 pm.
