Women's Volleball Drops Two at CUNYAC Multi-Match

New York, NY —The York College women's volleyball team began their CUNYAC schedule with a pair of losses on Saturday at ARC Arena.

Medgar Evers defeated York in straight sets. Cardinals Freshman Shamonie Miller (Information Tech HS, Queens, NY) contributed three kills and four digs with Junior Chayana Jimenez (Gregorio Luperon, Dominican Republic),  pitching in with two kills, two aces, and six digs.  

In the loss against Baruch, the York team were lead by Junior Chayana Jimenez (Gregorio Luperon, Dominican Republic),  with nine digs.  Freshman Shamonie Miller (Information Tech HS, Queens, NY) recorded three kills, while Freshman Kiara Gonzalez (Northside Charter HS, Puerto Rico) chipped with one kill, three assists and five digs.

York's record fell to 0-3, Baruch College is 3-5, while Medgar Evers is 1-4.  The Cardinals return to action Tuesday, September 11th, 2018 to play Purchase at 7 p.m.
