Women's Soccer struggles against St. Joseph's College (L.I.)

Patchogue, N.Y.—The York College women's soccer team lost on the road at St. Joseph's College (L.I.) on Sunday afternoon by a final score of 8-0.
 
It didn't take long for the Golden Eagles to get on the scoreboard netting a goal 24 seconds into the match. From there the Golden Eagles would continue to have a huge offensive advantage over the Cardinals.  York gave up another two goals before the first half was over. 
 
To start the second half, York struggled defensively and surrendered five more goals to put the match out of reach. St. Joseph's College (L.I), Christina Gagliardi become the all-time leading goal scorer with her 32nd career goal in the 52nd minute.
 
Junior, Yvonne Zapata, the Cardinals' goalie, recorded 13 saves on the afternoon.
 
After today's loss, the Cardinals fall to 0-10-1, 0-3 CUNYAC on the season, while St. Joseph's College (L.I), improves to 3-4. The Cardinals will look to rebound when they go on the road to take on Brooklyn College on Saturday, October 6 at 12 p.m.
