Men's Soccer falls to CSI

STATEN ISLAND, NY –The York College Cardinals were dominated this afternoon by losing to the College of Staten Island Dolphins by a score of 16-1. 
 
The Dolphins kept the Cardinals defense busy early and often in this one. They opened the scoring in the fifth minute when Chris Vendra scored with a long shot into the back of the net. CSI fired off 44 shots while limiting the York offense to just seven shots in the game. Overall three different Dolphins picked up a hat-trick. 

Despite allowing 11 goals, York keeper Junior, Johan Bermeo had nine saves.  The York goalies were busy all afternoon, off the 44 shots, 27 of which were on goal. In the 73rd minute, Junior Ivan Brito was fouled inside the box and awarded a penalty kick. Brito scored off the penalty to put York on the board. 

With the loss, York falls to (1-8, 0-3-1 CUNYAC) on the season. CSI improves to (8-3, 4-0 CUNYAC). The Cardinals are back in action on Wednesday, October 3rd at 7:00 p.m. against CUNYAC opponent the Baruch College Bearcats at Aviator Field.
