BROOKLYN, N.Y.- Double OT wasn't enough to decide a winner, as the York College women's soccer team ended in a 0-0 tie with Hollins University on Sunday.
For most of the game, the teams played evenly. Hollins out-shot the Cardinals 15 to 9 in regulation time. Junior
Yvonne Zapata (Yonkers, NY/Lincoln HS) led the way for York with 12 saves in her first career start.Â
In the first overtime, Hollis would see its lone scoring chance, but Zapata continued to make the critical save despite a trio of late corner kicks, Hollins would come away empty. In the second OT, York was not able to score with its only scoring opportunity as the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Cardinals' next match comes on Wednesday, September 19th as they play the City College of New York. The game is scheduled for 4:00 pm at Aviator Field. Â
