JAMAICA,N.Y.—The York College men's tennis team was back in action on Saturday with beautiful playing conditions. York lost to Rutgers-Newark, 9-0, in the Cardinals first non-conference match of the season.
Ralph Ramos, had the closest match for the Cardinals as he put in a hard fought battle in #5 singles against Richard Nguyen. Each set was extremely close but Ramos would eventually fall, 6-4,6-4.
After today's loss, the Cardinals continue to look for their first win of the season and fall to 0-6, on the season, while the Scarlet Raiders improve to 3-6, on the season. It will be a quick turnaround for the Cardinals as they head to Connecticut to take on Alberta's Magnus on Sunday with a start time of 1pm.
