BROOKLYN, N.Y.—The York College softball team lost an evening doubleheader to Brooklyn College on Thursday by scores of 13-5 and 17-1 respectively.
In the game one loss, York's
Allison Ahmed led the Cardinals with the bat, going 3-for-3 with two runs scored.
Nicole Ovelheira added an RBI double.
York fell into an early hole, allowing eight runs after two innings. The Bulldogs benefited from some sloppy play from York. Most of the runs came on errors, wild pitches or passed balls. Brooklyn would also put up a four-spot in the bottom of the sixth.
The second game was another rough one for the Cardinals. Brooklyn scored six in the first, two in the second and seven in the third.
York also managed just two hits in the game and scored its only run on an RBI single by
Nathy Reyes.
The Cardinals drop to 1-12, 0-7 CUNYAC, while Brooklyn improves to 5-13 ,2-4 CUNYAC. York will visit Staten Island on Sunday at 1 p.m.
