JAMAICA, N.Y .– The York College softball team hosted a late afternoon doubleheader against Hunter College. They lost the first game, 19-0, and the second game, 16-0.
The Cardinals were outscored by Hunter 35-0, and their bats were silenced against Hunter pitching. Hunter's, Caroline Bibula was the standout player for her team in the first game. Bibula went 2-for-3 with 5 RBIs, and also pitched two innings, striking out three batters.
For game two, Hunter's bats came alive in the first inning, scoring a total of nine runs. Catcher Delilah Gomez and right fielder Alisha Dovicsack were Hunter's best players, as they combined for a total of six RBIs.
York College third basemen
Nicole Ovelheira was York's lone bright spot, as she showed some flare with her glove, while also getting the Cardinals' only hit in game two.
York will be traveling for their next game against Old Westbury on April 4th..
