JAMAICA, N.Y.- The York College women's volleyball team fell to both William Paterson University (25-5, 25-5, 25-9), and Medgar Evers College (25-17, 25-22 , 17-25, 25-23) on Saturday afternoon.
Against William Paterson, the Cardinals managed to contribute five kills and 18 digs in the contest. William Patterson responded, recording 26 kills and 22 aces. Jamie O'Shea posted the best stat line for the Pioneers with nine kills and four digs.
In the match against Medgar Evers College, York's improved effort fell a bit shy in a fighting effort against the Cougars. Sashamoni Burnett had 10 kills, five aces, and two blocks for the Cougars, while Melisa Wright contributed with eight kills and 12 digs. The Cougars posted 35 kills to go along with 18 aces.
In the two matches for the Cardinals, Shamonie Miller led the way for York, with three aces, 10 assists, and 11 digs, while Argenis Morales chipped in 7 kills, two blocks, and eight digs throughout both matches.
The Cardinals now hold a 0-15 record on the season. They play again this Monday, October 8th when they play against The City College of New York and Hunter College in a tri-match at Hunter College beginning at 12 p.m.
