JAMAICA N.Y. – The York College men's soccer team gave up a goal in the first half to conference-rival John Jay College but the second was a different story in a 6-1 loss.
The Bloodhounds scored at the 8th-minute mark in the contest. The Cardinals battled for the remainder of the first half keeping the game close.
Johan Bermeo made three saves in the final minute of the half to keep York close.
The score remained 1-0 into halftime, but the Bloodhounds scored five more goals to put the game out of reach, as their offense outshot the Cardinals 9-2 in the second half. Sophomore Ebrahim Rames scored his first goal of the season in the 88th minute mark, off a corner kick. Joey Liccardi had a hat trick to lead the Bloodhounds.
York will play against CUNYAC opponent Medgar Evers on Saturday, 10/13 at Aviator Field starting at 5:00 p.m.
