The Cougars and Cardinals split the first two matches. The third set came down to the wire, as the teams traded points until the end. A kill by Argenis Morales and an ace by Maria Rodriguez allowed the Cardinals to win the set, 26-24.

The Cougars looked as though they were going to bounce back and take the fourth set, but a late rally by York helped put the Cardinals over the top.

York dropped the first match to Sarah Lawrence 3-0. Melanie Coleman led the way for the Gryphons with 15 kills, who was set up for most of the game by Lauren Kilroy who chipped in 20 assists.
