JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College women's volleyball team fell to the College of Mt. St. Vincent at home Tuesday by a score of 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-20).
Argenis Morales led York in defeat with seven kills, while
Christine Houston registered six digs.
Mt. St. Vincent's Tara Maloney had a big match, recording ten kills and four digs, while Patsy Swell had 16 assists.
The Mt. St Vincent Dolphins had no trouble early in the first two sets, making some impressive kills to come out to an early 2-0 advantage.
York's best chance for a victory came in the third set. After multiple rallies and some amazing digs by
Chayana Jimenez, York was able to ignite the crowd with energy. However after taking an early lead, York wasn't able to keep up with the firepower on Mt. St. Vincent's side.
Mt. St. Vincent improves to 9-7, while York drops to 1-13. The Cardinals will visit Farmingdale State College tomorrow at 6 p.m.
