JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College women's volleyball team fell to CUNYAC rival Brooklyn College at home Thursday by a score of 3-0 (25-19, 25-9, 25-11).
Kassandra Diaz led York in defeat with three aces, while
Allison Ahmed registered eight digs.
Brooklyn's Sarina Rozek had a big game, recording nine kills, five aces and seven digs. Claudia Moi had 21 assists.
York's best chance for a victory came in the first set. After falling behind, 23-13, the Cardinals rallied for six straight points to cut the deficit to 23-19. Brooklyn called a timeout and regrouped to get the final two points of the set.
From there, the Bulldogs had no trouble in the second and third sets and went on to sweep the match.
Brooklyn improves to 6-4, 3-0 CUNYAC, while York is still in search of it first victory at 0-8, 0-3 CUNYAC. The Cardinals will travel to Pennsylvania this weekend for a tri-match at Clarks Summit University.
