BROOKLYN, N.Y.- The York College men's soccer team was in action Wednesday night as they squared off against the College of Staten Island. However, the Cardinals lacked a spark to their offense and lost by a final score of 4-0.
The Dolphins scored their first goal in the eighth minute of play on a shot from 20 yards out by Joel Morales. However, the story of the game for the Dolphins was Adrian Cosovic.
York almost escaped the first half only being down by one goal, but a questionable foul in the box in the 42nd minute led to a penalty shot that Cosovic capitalized on for one of his three goals in the game. The Cardinals never recovered after the goal and the Dolphins continued to control most of the game. York could only manage three shots against a tough Dolphin defense.
The Cardinals now hold a 1-6, 0-1 CUNYAC record on the year as they will look to get back into the win column this Saturday. The game is scheduled for 2:30 as they take on Brooklyn College at Aviator Sports & Events Center.
