JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College men's tennis team lost an afternoon match to CUNYAC opponent Brooklyn College by a score of 8-1 on Monday.
With the loss, York is 0-11, 0-6 CUNYAC. They are officially eliminated from CUNYAC playoff contention. Brooklyn improves to 3-6, 2-2 CUNYAC.
The Cardinals lone win came at #2 doubles, where
Abir Dupu and
Isaiah Segarra were 8-5 victors over Brooklyn's Chevaughn Mattis and Kevin Gyrka.
Segarra nearly picked up a singles victory as well, losing in a third-set tiebreaker at #4 singles.
York will return to action on Wednesday with a non-conference match at home vs. St. Joseph's College (Long Island) at 4 p.m.
