NEW YORK, N.Y.—The York College men's volleyball team saw its CUNYAC playoff hopes take another big hit on Tuesday, as they fell to John Jay College, 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-17) on the road.
With the loss, York is now 4-20, 1-6 CUNYAC. They will need to defeat the College of Staten Island in their final CUNYAC game next Tuesday and will also need help from other teams to clinch the sixth and final playoff spot.
Despite the importance of the game, the Cardinals were never competitive in this one. They managed just ten kills on the evening, compared to 31 for the Bloodhounds.
York's
Paramvir Singh led the way in defeat with 12 digs.
Akeem George had three kills. John Jay (10-14, 3-4 CUNYAC), was led by Edwin Hernandez, who had 13 kills and hit .304.
The Cardinals will have a quick turnaround, as they travel to Union, NJ on Wednesday for a road tri-match with Kean University and New Jersey City University beginning at 6 p.m.
