JAMAICA N.Y.-- Despite a strong second half, the York College men's basketball team fell short against The City College of New York on Friday night, 77-72.
Edwin Sainvil led all players with a game-high 29 points.
Larry Moore also added a career-high 18 points and 13 rebounds, while
Jean Joseph netted 17 points in the loss for the Cardinals.
The Cardinals started the game off slow and found themselves in a six-point deficit going into halftime. However, they came out really strong and eventually found themselves ahead early on in the second half.

To start the second half,
Larry Moore and
Jean Joseph scored the first eight points for York to help the Cardinals rally back. Â The Cardinals took the lead, 52-51, following a Moore jumper with just under 15 minutes to play. However CCNY, would respond shortly after with an 8-0 run that put them up 64-56 with 10:23 to go. Â The Cardinals tried once again to claw back, but despite a valiant effort, could not pull back ahead.

David Solano led the Beavers with 18 points, while Khalil Hamer added 12 points in the victory. Â

After tonight's game, the York Cardinals drop to 2-20, 2-12 CUNYAC on the season, while The City College of New York Beavers improve to 12-9, 10-4 CUNYAC. Up next for the Cardinals will be a road game on, Tuesday at 7 p.m. at John Jay College.
