MAHWAH, N.J.—The York College women's basketball team had a rough afternoon in the consolation game of the Roadrunners Tip-off Tournament at Ramapo College on Saturday. York lost to St. Joseph's (Brooklyn), 94-52.
The Cardinals had difficultly finding the bottom of the net, making 27.4 percent of their shots and connecting on just 1 of 15 three-pointers. Conversely, St. Joe's shot 43 percent from the field and made six shots from beyond the arc. York's 27 turnovers, which led to 30 points for the Bears did not help its cause either.
York was led by
Allison Ahmed, who scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds, despite coming off the bench.
Karen Bellamy finished with a double-double of 14 points and ten rebounds. St. Joseph's got a game-high 22 points from Victoria Porcasi.
York is now 0-3, while St. Joe's is 1-2. The Cardinals will host Yeshiva on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
