BRONX, N.Y.—The York College women's soccer team lost on the road at Lehman College on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 8-0.
It didn't take long for the Lightning to get on the scoreboard. In the 13
th minute of play, Lillian Barreto scored off the assist from Estefany Balbueno. From there the Lightning would continue to have a huge offensive advantage over the Cardinals. York gave up another four goals before the first half was over.
To start the second half, York came back stronger defensively and was able to limit the Lightning to three goals. Melanie Siranaula and Daisy Gomez each had two goals for Lehman in the win.
Stephanie Guiterrez, the Cardinals' goalie, recorded four saves on the afternoon, while
Alaysia Madison would have the only recorded shot on goal for the Cardinals.
After today's loss, the Cardinals fall to 0-11, 0-3 CUNYAC on the season, while Lehman College improves to 5-6-1, 2-1 CUNYAC. The Cardinals will look to rebound when they go on the road to Pennsylvania, to take on University of Valley Forge on Monday at 1 p.m.
