JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College women's volleyball team welcomed Penn State University-Abington to New York on Saturday but the Nittany Lions rudely greeted the Cardinals and won 3-0 (25-8, 25-17, 25-16).
Allison LI led York in defeat with a solid line consisting of five kills and ten digs.
Chayana Jimenez chipped in eight digs, while
Kassandra Diaz added two aces and five digs.
PSU hit a strong .266 on the day and was led by Sydney Bennett, who finished with seven kills and six digs. Cori Watson had a match-high seven aces and 12 digs.
The Nittany Lions took the first set thanks in a part to an 8-0 advantage to start the set. The second set once again saw PSU take an early lead. In the final set, York kept it close, trailing 11-10 at one point, but Abignton would pull away late to close out the match.
York falls to 1-15, while, PSU-Abington is now 8-9. The Cardinals return to action tomorrow with a tri-match at William Paterson.
