BROOKLYN, N.Y.- The York College men's soccer team played against Medgar Evers at MCU Park in Brooklyn on Saturday afternoon and lost by a score of 4-0.
Despite leading the Cougars in shots in the first half, the Cardinals went into halftime losing 1-0. The Cardinals held a 9-5 edge in shots. A goal by Benard Julien in the 29th minute put home team ahead going into halftime and was all Medgar Evers needed to win the contest.
In the second half of play, Medgar Evers pulled away with two goals in just eight minutes of play--the first coming in the 58
th minute. York's offense kept it going in the second half with seven shots, but the Medgar Evers goaltender came away with the shutout. James Hyacinthe shutdown most of the Cardinals offense in the game, recording seven saves.
York is next in action on Wednesday, October 18th when they play Baruch College. The game starts at 6:00 pm at Aviator Sports & Events Center.
