BROOKLYN, N.Y.—Sophomore
Antonella Campos and freshman
Michelle Rodriguez each recorded a hat trick to lead the York College women's soccer team to a 7-0 triumph over Medgar Evers College on Monday evening.
With the three goals, Campos now has six on the season, which ties her for the CUNYAC lead. Rodriguez has four goals and ranks 10th in the CUNYAC.
York opened the scoring in the 12th minute with a goal by freshman
Kendry Sibri—her second of the season. It was then the Rodriguez and Campos show from there. Rodriguez had her hat trick before halftime, scoring in the 14th, 33rd and 37th minutes, while Campos netted goals in the 22nd minute, 47th minute and 58th minute. All seven goals came unassisted.
York completely dominated the contest on both ends of the field. They did not allow a single shot on the day.
The win pushes York's record to 3-4, while Medgar Evers drops to 0-5. Although the match was against a CUNYAC opponent, it does not count towards either team's conference record, since the two teams already played previously this year.
