CANTON, N.Y. – The York College women's soccer team (3-5-0) struggled to keep up with SUNY Canton's (2-7-1) overwhelmingly powerful offense, losing 9-0 on the road.
The Cardinals put up six shots to Canton's 34 and only three shots on goal to Canton's 20.
York's three shots on goal came from
Antonella Campos and
Estefany Delgado, while goalkeeper
Sarah Hilaire made 11 saves.
The Kangaroos opened up the scoring frenzy in the ninth minute when Sydney Kinder grabbed a loose ball and shot into the left side of the net. Kinder would be the leading offensive force in the game as she would go on to score two more, her second coming in the
21st minute and third in the 88th minute. Six other players scored a goal apiece.
The Cardinals will be back in action when they host St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn on Monday at 4 p.m.
