NEW YORK, NY – The York College Cardinals women's soccer team suffered their second CUNYAC loss on the season Saturday, falling to the John Jay College Bloodhounds by a score of 3-0.
York (2-4, 1-2 CUNYAC) played a strong game, registering 12 shots on goal, while goalkeeper
Sarah Hilaire made 13 saves. Despite the 12 shot attempts, York could not find the back of the net.
The first goal for John Jay (3-5, 1-1 CUNYAC) came in the 43rd minute when sophomore Kali Moss scored one from outside the box on an assist from freshman Sydney Solimani. The second Bloodhounds came in the 50th minute from junior Zola Campbell, the result of a corner kick, as well as assists from Solimani and freshman Mary Jo Anzano. John Jay closed out the scoring in the 55th minute, when Solimani would send a cross through the box and find Moss again for her second goal of the night.
The women are back in action on Monday, September 26th at 8 p.m. against Medgar Evers College at Aviator Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn, NY.
