NEW YORK, N.Y.—The York College men's volleyball team picked up two conference victories on Saturday, defeating Brooklyn College, 3-1 (25-18, 25-13, 16-25, 25-19) and the College of Staten Island, 3-1 (26-28, 25-18, 25-17, 25-14).
The win now improves York's record to 8-10 overall and 6-4 in the CUNYAC. After starting the season at 2-4 in CUNYAC play, York has won four straight CUNYAC matches.
Against Brooklyn, the Cardinals hit .277 as a team, with
Larry Moore leading the way with 12 kills and a .526 hitting percentage.
Randy Adams and Akeen George each chipped in eight kills. Adams also added five solo blocks and nine digs.
Paramvir Singh and
Jonathan Liao each had 14 digs.
In the match vs. Staten Island,
Randy Adams came up big recording 25 kills—two short of his career high—to go along with ten digs. George set a new career high with 13 kills and a .611 hitting percentage and Moore had another big game with 12 kills. Liao set a new career high with 49 assists.
