OLD WESTBURY, N.Y.—The York College softball team went on the road for the second straight day and dropped a pair of games to The College at Old Westbury by scores of 9-1 and 9-0.
In game #1, York was out of the game early as the Panthers put up six runs in the bottom of the first. Three errors in the inning helped up open up the floodgates.
The Cardinals plated their only run in the bottom of the fourth when
Nicole Ovelheira opened the inning with a double. She would advance home on a couple of ground outs.
In game #2, Old Westbury pitcher Nicole DeCola threw a five-inning perfect game against the Cardinals. She was backed by an offense that put up crooked numbers in the first, second and fourth innings.
The Panthers improve to 2-4 on the season, while York drops to 0-8. The Cardinals expect to have better results when they host the College of New Rochelle on Saturday at 12 p.m. at Cunningham Park, Field #16.
