PURCHASE, NY—The York College softball team could not muster much offense in its two games Wednesday afternoon, as they lost 13-0 and 12-0 in a doubleheader at Purchase College.

In the first game, Alyssa King recorded the only hit of the game for the Cardinals in the first inning, but Panthers pitcher Nicole Fortuna was able to induce a double play to get out of the inning.

Purchase (8-2) was very consistent the whole the game, scoring two runs in the first inning, four in the second, four in the third, and three in the fourth. They were led by Tara Stiansen, who went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBIs and three runs scored.

In the second game, Purchase got out to a big lead early, taking a 9-0 lead after two innings. They were led by Kelly Hayes, who went 2-for-3 with a triple, four RBIs, and two runs scored. Lisa Kentris also added two hits and scored three runs in the game.

York (0-6) was led on offense by Priscilla Lallave and Kimberly Barnes who each had a hit. On the mound, Chyla Guevara allowed five earned runs and had a strikeout.

The Cardinals are back in action March 31^st, as they play a doubleheader at The College of Old Westbury starting at 2:30 p.m.
