JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College men's volleyball team finished the regular season on a disappointing note, losing to Lehman College 3-1 (25-18, 13-25, 25-12, 25-14) on Tuesday night.
Although the Cardinals certainly did not want to end the regular season with a loss, the defeat has no bearing on the Cardinals' seeding for next week's CUNYAC playoffs. York was locked in as the #4 seed and will host CCNY in the quarterfinals next Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Although York hit well as a team (.271), Lehman held a large attack advantage (106-85), which they converted to 52 kills. By comparison, York had 37 kills.
Randy Adams led York once again with 15 kills, 15 assists and a .360 hitting percentage.
Larry Moore added eight kills and
Akeem George finished with seven.
Paramvir Singh had a match-high eight digs.
Lehman had three players reach double digits in kills, led by Orlando Vargas who had 17. Henry Nunez added 10 kills and hit .389, while Ramon Jimenez had 14 kills and a .379 hitting percentage. Emmanuel Ortiz had 44 assists.
York is now 12-20 overall and 9-7 in the CUNYAC. Lehman is 8-17, 6-10 CUNYAC.
