JAMAICA, N.Y.—The York College men's volleyball team faced a stiff test on Wednesday night against #10 Vassar College, losing to the Brewers by a score of 3-0 (25-5, 25-16, 25-16).
Vassar (20-5) dominated the first set, before York picked up its play in the second and third sets. However, the Brewers were just too strong and won in straight sets.
York (12-17) experimented with a different lineup in this one, hoping to pull off an upset, but it was not to be.
Paramvir Singh, who typically plays libero, played at outside hitter and earned a team-high five kills.
Larry Moore added three kills and
Randy Adams had two aces.
Vassar was led by Christian Lianza, who had nine kills and a .727 hitting percentage.
It doesn't get any easier for York in their next couple matches. They take on both Hunter College and Baruch College—the top two teams in the CUNYAC—on Saturday at a multi-match hosted by the Cardinals. York faces Hunter at 1 p.m. and Baruch at 5 p.m.
