NEW YORK, N.Y. – The York College men's volleyball team fell to #14 Hunter College in three sets (25-12, 25-11, 25-9) on Thursday evening.
York was led by
Frederis Tapia and
Akeem George, who each had three kills in the match.
Jonathan Liao led York in digs with five. Leading the way for Hunter was Benjamin Crusinberry, who had eight kills and Nicolas Sanchez, who had 28 assists.
The Cardinals kept it close in the first set for a while, only down 12-10 at one point. Hunter then scored 13 of the next 15 points to win the set. In the next two sets, York faced early deficits and were unable to recover.
York is now 3-6, 2-4 CUNYAC. Their next match is on Saturday, February 20th, at 3pm against Mount Ida College. It will take place at John Jay College.
