WAYNE, N.J. – The York College men's basketball team could not contain the offense of William Paterson University on Tuesday night. The Pioneers shot over 50 percent from the field en route to defeating York, 89-57.
William Paterson was 29-of-57 from the field and made 11-of-23 shots from three-point range and ran away with the victory. Zach Frick scored 20 points and made six shots from beyond the arc to lead the way.
York's
Ryan Smart had another solid game in a losing effort, scoring 17 points and grabbing 12 rebound.
Ryan St. John scored 11 points and
Paramvir Singh had nine.
The Cardinals were in the game early until a 13-0 run midway through the first half put the Pioneers up 28-12. They would go into the halftime with a 24-point lead. The Cardinals never threatened in the second half.
With the loss, York is now 0-9, while William Paterson is 4-6. The Cardinals will visit Muhlenberg College on Saturday at 5 p.m.
