FROSTBURG, M.D.—The York College women's basketball team had no answer for University of Pittsburgh-Bradford, losing by a score of 95-50 in the consolation game of the Frostburg State Jim Crawley Tournament.
York's lone bright spot on the day was
Evanda Redwood, who had a team-high 15 points with seven rebounds and four assists, while also making 7-of-8 shots from the free throw line. She was named to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts. In addition,
Diamond Jackson chipped in nine points and 13 rebounds.
Pitt-Bradford had two players eclipse 20 points, led by Anna Colbert with 28. Colbert also had six boards, seven assists and two steals. Ali Rinfrette added 22 points and five assists.
York was in the game in the opening quarter, taking an early 6-5 lead following a Redwood three-pointer. However, Pitt-Bradford responded with a 9-0 run, taking a 14-5 advantage.
Things really went south in the second quarter though, as Pitt-Bradford outscored the Cardinals by a 32-9 margin. The second half was fairly close, but the lopsided second quarter was way too much of a deficit to overcome.
York (0-3) returns to action on Tuesday to take on Yeshiva University at 7 p.m. That game will be played at Pratt Institute.
