BRONX, N.Y.— The York College men's soccer team scored two goals, but it was far from enough to earn the victory, as they fell to Lehman College, 7-2 on the road Wednesday.
Lehman (5-3-3, 3-0-2 CUNYAC) wasted little time getting on the board, scoring in just the second minute of action and then adding goals in both the 32nd and 34th minutes.
York (0-11-1, 0-4-1 CUNYAC) was able to cut into the deficit before halftime when
Huguens Smith took a shot from the right wing after a pass from
Mohamed Yousry and scored, making it 3-1 in the 39th minute.
After halftime, Lehman continued the offensive onslaught, scoring goals in the 54th, 59th, 67th and 75th minute.
The Cardinals added a late goal by
Fabrice Pierre-Paul when he picked up a rebound and scored in the 85th minute.
Lehman was led by Ramone Rowe, who scored two goals and added an assist.
The Lightning fired 23 shot and York keeper
Nigel Sampson made seven saves.
