BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The York College men's soccer team fell to St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn, 4-0, in a non-conference match at Aviator Sports & Events Center on Monday night.
St. Joseph's was in control for most of the game, dominating the time of possession and holding a significant shot advantage (26-8). After 24 minutes of scoreless action, they broke through with the game's first goal. Beka Goduadze took a pass into the goalie box and fired a low shot past York keeper
Nigel Sampson.
Daniel Gonclaves made it 2-0 in favor the Bears after he put in a rebound off a corner kick in the 36th minute. They would take the two-goal lead into halftime.
In the second half, St. Joe's put the game away, when Goduadze scored his second of the day, this time taking a pass over the top and scoring in the 68th minute. Cesar Oviedo rounded out the scoring with a goal in the 76th minute.
York had a few chances to score, taking eight shots, including one that hit off the crossbar in the second half, but could not find the back of the net.
The Cardinals drop to 0-10-1, while St. Joseph's stands at 5-6. The Cardinals will visit Lehman College on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
