NEW YORK, N.Y.--- The York College women's basketball team was badly outplayed by the City College of New York on Friday. They fell to the Beavers by a score of 82-38.
CCNY's Tiara Brown dominated York for the second time this season, registering a triple-double (14 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists). The Beavers shot 46.4 percent from the field, while holding York to just 19.3 percent shooting and forcing 26 turnovers.
The storyline for York in this one was
Angelika Ruggiano. She needed 14 points to reach 1,000 for her career. She finished with 12 points. The silver lining is that she will now have the chance to reach the milestone at home in the Cardinals' next game on Wednesday.
Leading York in this game was
Samantha Bond, who had 20 points.
Jigcara Grant, who was coming off a 36-rebound effort in her previous game, had "just" 12 boards in this one. She continues to lead the nation in rebounding (18.5).
York (4-14, 2-8 CUNYAC) will return to action on Wednesday to host Baruch College at 6 p.m.
