CRESSON, P.A.— The York College women's soccer team traveled to Pennsylvania Saturday to take on Mt. Aloysius College, and the Cardinals came up empty, losing by a score of 6-0.
Mt. Alyosius opened the scoring early with a goal in the 8th minute by Kelsey Wilmink. She took a cross from Jordan Gebhart and scored. Then in the 19th minute, Olivia Woodley added her first of two goals to make it 2-0.
Gebhart then put the match out of reach after scoring on a through ball in the 28th minute, and Ashley Morchesky added another goal on a cross just before halftime, to make it 4-0.
Mt. Alyosius then added two more second-half goals, getting another goal from Woodley in the 67th minute and then a goal by Kristin James in the 71st.
York couldn't muster many scoring opportunities of its own, managing just three shots and two shots on goal.
York drops to 0-2 on the season. They return to action on Tuesday with its home opener against Medgar Evers College at 6 p.m.
