BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The York College men's soccer team found itself in an early, 2-0 hole against Hunter College and could never recover, falling by a score of 3-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Hunter's Aiden Tucker scored a pretty goal off a corner kick just 3:40 into the match to give the Hawks an early, 1-0 advantage. Then, in the 12th minute, Hunter Brandon Fiscina took a pass from midfield and dribbled past a York defender and scored.
The score remained the same until the 84th minute when the Hawks put the game away, following a goal from Kamal Chhetri.
York's scoring opportunities were few and far between in this one. York's best opportunity came late in the match on a free kick just outside the goalie box. However,
Huguens Smith launched a shot that was high of the net.
York falls to 0-7-1, 0-2 CUNYAC. Hunter improves to 4-5, 1-1 CUNYAC. The Cardinals return to action on Wednesday with a home match against Lehman College at 6 p.m.
